Touch Down was founded by four young working professionals in March 2016. What initially started out as a small venture to organise social networking events soon turned into a project with a more noble vision. Through working together the founders of Touch Down identified a clear need for equipping, empowering and uplifting the community to bring together people to promote common positive objectives. With the focus on making a difference both socially and environmentally, Touch Down now has many young professionals who are passionate about change, participating in planning and hosting a variety of events, workshops, skills training sessions, and community outreach programmes to bring people together to promote the improvement of the community.
To create a generation of young professionals who are socially conscious, integrated and passionate about change within their community. Together with these young professionals, equipping people with practical skills to allow them the opportunity to become economically stable and active participants in the economy of South Africa. Participating in these activities with the hope to alleviate poverty and promote a more peaceful society.
Touch Down has three major sources of income. Firstly, as its main operating business, Touch Down hosts and does event planning in order to fundraise for the organisation. Secondly, Touch Down receives donations from private individuals who support the organisation. The third stream of income is through members' contribution and monthly fee. We are constantly networking young professionals to contribute and participate in our work.
